General Rules
Introduction

Ozark Vintage Racing Association was formed for the reason of the history, preservation, protection and reproduction of vintage dirt track cars from the 60s and 70s era. Also, to revive the fun and fellowship of a by gone era of racing. OVRA will in no way discriminate against sex, race, creed or origin. Anyone is welcome to join OVRA that currently owns or is building a vintage car, but must follow any and all rules of OVRA. Please remember in any successful organization there must be accountability.

1.Conduct: Any and all members of OVRA are and will be required at all times to display and maintain proper conduct and sportsmanship both on and off the track. All drivers and car owners will be responsible for the conduct of their pit crews, family and friends that attend events with them. Any misconduct will be assessed and voted on by the committee. That member will be met with and possibly penalized in accordance with said infraction. We want each member to respect each other.Misconduct will not be tolerated!

Any member charged or convicted of a felony or immoral act may at any time have that person's membership revoked immediately by the committee. We do understand that people are sometimes put into situations beyond their control and the committee will review each case on an individual bases. However, in the case of any sexually related crimes we will not grant membership and will revoke any membership of any current member involved. We want all our members to feel safe with their families and children.

2.Cars: All cars must be registered with OVRA before racing in any OVRA event. All cars must inspected and have in plain site a OVRA safety inspection sticker before competing in any OVRA event. There must be an information sheet filled out for car and driver. All cars are required to be washed and clean prior to any OVRA event. All cars are required to have legible numbers, no stand alone letters. For all other car rules refer to the rules for your division.

3.Drivers: All drivers must 15 years of age or older. 18 years old and under must have a signed consent and release form from that persons parent or guardian. All drivers must sign an accident release form, and fill out a membership application and information sheet. All drivers must be an OVRA member before racing in any OVRA event with exception of a open or invitational event.

4.Drinking: No alcohol or drugs or medication that would alter reaction time or reflexes will be allowed prior to and or during any OVRA event. If you are caught you will not be allowed to race that event. And you will be suspended for the next two events. If caught a second time your membership will be revoked for one year. This suspension will include driver or owner or both, whichever the committee deems necessary for the infraction. After any event we want everybody to have fun, but do it responsibly, remember we are a family oriented association.

5.Events:All race tracks have different track rules. You will be expected to respect those rules. Keep in mind we are the guests and they are the host. If their rules say race to the yellow, we will. If they have a two spin rule, abide by it, etc. Keep in mind, rule number one - conduct. All cars are required to help with packing the track, if you do not pack the track you will be put tailback in all events for that event. All heat races will line up by draw method. Features will lineup accordingly from your finish in your heat. OVRA will be responsible for finalizing lineup. Any grievances or questions are to be directed to an OVRA official only. You are not to involve any track owner or their staff or dispute any decision they make.

6.Inspection and Tech: All cars must be safety inspected prior to your first OVRA event. Some tracks that have scales we will sometimes require the top 5 from feature to cross scales. All other inspections will be conducted on a spot need to basis. Penalties will be set accordingly.

7.Rough Driving: It is to hard to find and build these cars much less to have to rebuild one due to negligence.ROUGH DRIVING WILL NOT BE TOLERATED - PERIOD! Penalties will be first infraction, driver suspended for next two events. Second infraction driver suspended for one year. Third infraction driver, car and owner suspended for life. If you are a guest of OVRA for one event and are found to be ruff driving you will be asked to load your car and not come to any OVRA event. OVRA will have no ones safety jeopardized.

8.Responsibilities: It is required that if possible and you are asked by a committee member to help with a promotion or event, please do so if you can. It will be greatly appreciated.

9.Sponsorships: Any member does agree that at any time that OVRA has secured sponsorship for any event or the term of the season. That member will display a decal of said sponsor on each side of member's car for the duration of that sponsorship.

10.Disclosure: All members do agree that at no time will Ozark Vintage Racing Association, aka OVRA be held responsible for any injury or death to a member or non member as a result of any accident or neglect of any member or non member either to, from, or during any OVRA event. And further more, Ozark Vintage Racing Association acts herein only as a club, and at no time will be entered into or named or joined as a party in any civil action or suit at any time by any member or family of a member.
